Anti-inflammatory food can help you live longer, so what you need to eat

Anti-inflammatory food can help you live longer, so what you need to eat

Nutrition plays a large role in determining how to live a long life and the kind of life. A new study says that eating anti-inflammatory foods decreases the risk of mortality.
While none of us will live forever, you can add some extra years to your life by paying attention to what you eat. To increase your lifespan as well as improve the quality of your life.

A new study has found that a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grain bread, Dark chocolate, nuts, olive oil, and canola oil may help you live longer. The findings, published in the Journal of Internal Medicine, suggest that those who strictly follow an anti-inflammatory diet have an 18% lower chance of all-cause mortality.

It was also found that smokers who followed the diet experienced even greater profits when compared with smokers who did not follow the diet, the team said. For the study, the study team involved 68,273 Swedish men and women aged between 45 and 83 years. The members were followed for 16 years.

The researchers also found that those who follow the diet experience a 20% lower risk of cardiovascular destruction, and a 13% lower risk of cancer destruction, compared with those who followed the diet to a lesser degree. “Our dose-response analysis showed that even partial adherence to the anti-inflammatory diet may provide a health benefit,” said lead author Joanna Kaluza, Associate Professor at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Poland.

The anti-inflammatory potential of the diet was calculated using the validated anti-inflammatory diet index (AIDI), which includes 11 possible anti-inflammatory and five possible pro-inflammatory foods. Anti-inflammatory foods consist of fruits and herbs, tea, coffee, whole grain bread, breakfast corn, low-fat cheese, olive oil and canola oil, nuts, chocolate, and moderate quantities of red wine and beer.

Pro-inflammatory foods introduce unprocessed and prepared red meat, organ meats, chips, and soft-drink refreshments.
